In short: what matters
- The Li Auto (Lixiang) and Voyah apps are not published in Russian app stores: they target the Chinese market.
- Android: the APK is taken from the brand's official website or from Chinese app stores.
- iPhone: the app comes from the Chinese App Store, which means a China-region Apple ID.
- Installing the app does not solve the main issue: registration requires a Chinese +86 number, to which the brand sends the confirmation code.
- Third-party APK builds and "modded" versions are a risk: data-stealing software and account access tools are often distributed through them.
The Li Auto (Lixiang) app
- Android: APK from the brand's official website or a Chinese app store. The app is not in Google Play.
- iPhone: the app from the Chinese App Store — a China-region Apple ID is required to access it.
- Registration: a +86 phone number and an SMS code. Without a Chinese number registration cannot be completed, so the app stays on the setup screen.
The Voyah app
- Android: APK from the brand's site or Chinese app stores. Some versions require permission to install from unknown sources.
- iPhone: the app from the Chinese App Store under a China-region Apple ID.
- Registration: also confirmed by a code to a +86 number, and the number has to be a working, lasting one — the code will be needed later too, when binding a second driver, changing the owner or recovering access.
What blocks people most often
People install the app and stop at registration: Chinese brands send the confirmation code only to +86 numbers. A Russian or any other foreign number will not receive it.
There are two ways around this. The first is to get a Chinese number yourself through a Chinese service: that requires a Chinese account, Chinese payment methods and a willingness to work through the interface. The second is to get the number through KitSim: we need the name in Latin script as in the document and the foreign passport number, no document photos or selfies, and issuance takes 30 minutes to 2 hours.
If the app is installed but does not work
A frequent cause is not the number but the master account: the car is bound to the previous owner's profile, and the app's home screen asks you to sign into it. In that case we recover access and move the account to a new +86 number issued in your name.
